Yep. Still here. I rebuilt my blog pages tonight, and after staring at the newly blank main page (my last post got moved off the main page because it was too old), and at the urging of a friend, I am posting for the first time in months.

I'm going to avoid saying anything about the election; otherwise, this would be a very long entry indeed. Instead, I'll just point you to this article which presents a more logical view of the election results, rather than the Republican-friendly "Bush Country 2004" view of the same results. Also, in looking up that URL, I just ran across this rather bizarre comparison of the election results with the pre-Civil War divide between free states and slave states. Some people have way too much time on their hands.

Thanks to this election, I am now addicted to political talk shows even more than I was before. No more Food Network... I drool for Hardball, Meet the Press, and Hannity & Colmes now. I need help.

p.s. OK, I lied. I talked about the election. Sorry.

I wonder if I'll be able to post to your blog when I get drafted and sent to Iraq......

Damn. And Abby and I thought we still had your house as an escape when the 24-7 news shows got too hard to handle...

And about the election...

The rallying cry for "the other side" is always, "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" Not for nothing, and I'm sure all of you have aspects where you feel the same, I am damn well better off than I was 4 years ago...

Ahh, the old rumor of drafts and Iraq.

I think the only connection between those two words is this:

Mmmm.... military draft beer.... I've been implementing my own beer draft for over a year now, but not with official Navy beer drinking gear!
