summer me
I know it's not summer yet, but the summer me has returned. He's been away for a while-- replaced at the end of last summer with the fall me and then the winter me. Winter me has been fading slowly recently, but now he is finally gone until next year.
Here are the events that heralded the return of summer me:
- The windows are open, and the heat is officially off. It's been pretty cold at night lately, and I still need some heat to take the chill out of the air, but I don't care how damn cold it gets now... THE HEAT IS OFF!
- The evening air is filled with the smell of my neighbor cooking beef on his outdoor grill. Blech.
- The evening air is filled with the smell of my incense, to combat the smell of my neighbor cooking beef on his outdoor grill. Ahhhh.
- I've started planning the first brewing session to open up the DGB season-- probably May 21st.
- I've started planning some hikes and camping trips for the summer.
- Way more personal energy now.
This morning I actually walked into town to mail some items and do some banking. It was invigorating. It was also disgusting to see all of the trash on the side of the road, including:
- An empty bottle of Rumplemintz-- whole on the way into town, broken on the way back.
- Far too many cigarette butts to count. They are washed down into the same resting place in the corner of a sharp bend in the road.
- Various bits and scraps of metal.
I don't have a clever way of ending this blog entry. Sorry. I tried to think of one, but I failed.
That is all.
p.s. Clever readers may note that I did not speak of spring me. Spring me is short lived and turbulent, having a difficult time pushing winter me out of the way and then getting run over by summer me in his dash to take control.
